Beginning January 1, 2026, breakfast will no longer be included with your stay at Hibiscus Guesthouse.

Guest Rooms

Hibiscus Guesthouse offers 12 distinct room accommodations, each adorned with a charming vintage ambiance reminiscent of 1950s Old Florida. Distinguished as the only Vintage Old-Florida hotel in the 30A area providing three pet-friendly rooms and three condo flat-styled rooms. Our rooms boast comprehensive amenities, including satellite TV, a mini or full-sized refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee pot, iron and ironing board, private bath, a blow-dryer, and WiFi. As a delightful addition, a scrumptious breakfast is available at our on-site Cafe. Now operated by local vegan eatery Raw & Juicy.

The Woodpecker Cottage has a queen-size bed and a small living area that provides a nice view of the garden.
Turner Room
Queen Bed, Sleeps 2
The Turner Room has a queen-size bed and is just off the screened-in deck upstairs and overlooks the cafe courtyard.
Tropical Bird Room
King Bed, Sleeps 4
The Tropical Bird has a king-size bed and a separate living area with sleeper-sofa. It can accommodate up to 4 guests and shares a full kitchen with the Romance Room room.
Romance Room
King Bed, Sleeps 4
The Romance Room has a king-size bed and a separate living area with a sleeper sofa. It can accommodate up to 4 guests and shares a full kitchen with the Tropical Bird room.
Old Florida Room
Ground Floor, Queen Bed, Sleeps 2
The Old Florida room has a queen-size bed and can sleep 2 guests. It includes a small kitchenette.
Magnolia Room
Queen Bed, Sleeps 2
The Magnolia Room, on the second floor, has a queen-size bed and a shower but no tub. This is our “coziest” room, giving perhaps, the quaint feel of staying at Grandma’s house for the holiday.
Hibiscus Room
King Bed, Sleeps 3
One of our more spacious rooms, the Hibiscus Room has a king-size bed and a roll-away cot which can accommodate a third guest.
Funky Bird Room
Ground Floor, Pet Friendly, Queen Bed, Sleeps 2
The Funky Bird Room has a queen-size bed and can sleep 2 guests. It has a small kitchenette and is one of our 3 pet-friendly accommodations.
Flat Two
Flat, Ground Floor, King Bed, Pet Friendly, Sleeps 4
Flat Two is a first floor, one bedroom apartment with a king-size bed, and a sleeper sofa. It will accommodate 4 guests. It is one of our 3 pet-friendly accommodations.
Flat Three

Flat Three is a one-bedroom apartment with a king-size bed and a sleeper sofa in the living room. It will accommodate 4 guests.
Flat Four

Flat Four is a one-bedroom apartment with a king-size bed in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room. It will accommodate 4 guests.
Big Easy Room

The Big Easy Room is a fully handicap accessible room. With a queen-size bed, it can accommodate 2 guests and has a large bathroom and a big shower to accommodate our guests who use a wheelchair.

I would recommend this to anyone looking to enjoy the area and add to the “funky” experience of Grayton Beach. I loved the culture and can’t wait to return.

I left my Kindle there and the staff couldn’t have been more generous about hunting for it and ultimately finding it with a promise to ship it to me the next day. If you are tired of being “just another guest” at a big hotel this place is for you. The vegan cafe is supposed to be great and I have no doubt that it is. It was crowded when we stopped by to grab a bite and unfortunately we couldn’t wait for the crowd to thin… we had to get on the road. Would definitely go back.

We also enjoyed breakfast at the cafe! The waffle I ordered was incredible, and eating in the courtyard was serene.
We were able to walk to the beach (it’s winter so we weren’t hauling beach stuff) there’s public beach access within a 10 minute walk. There are also several restaurants, bars, and shops within a 10 minute walk.
We will be back again and again!

In a sea of cookie cutter, this could be anyplace, hotel options, this stood out as having a real sense of place (and an earlier time) and I enjoyed it… read more very much. I stayed in Flat #3 which is actually a cozy 1BR Apartment. Sometimes older places feel a bit threadbare and worn but this one didn’t. I liked the rambling quality, the outdoor spaces (great to hang out in) and the way it is not overwhelmed by the almighty automobile. There is parking but in a subdued, rambling way. The location is wonderful in a small community that also retains its sense of place and with access to some nice places to eat. The cafe, although the included breakfast has a fairly limited menu and is not the typical choose whatever you want continental breakfast, served up one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had: egg, cheese and spinach on excellent sourdough toast. My only complaint was that there is no decaf coffee. I would definitely go again if in the areas. Staff were warm and helpful. I appreciated that when they had a maintenance problem in my scheduled room, instead of surprising me on arrival, they called in advance and told me my options which were free upgrades.

They host wellness events on the weekends and periodically will turn the patio into an event for drinking and dancing (super fun). The room we stayed in (Turner) was lovely. It had all of the modern creature comforts but was furnished with historic pieces (that bathtub) that added to the charm of our stay. Would absolutely stay here again and would certainly encourage our friends and family too as well.
