Folks Gathering For a Grand Opening Speech

Check out our online photo tours of this over 100 year-old house (one of Grayton Beach's oldest). We moved it from 2 blocks up the street and relocated it next door to the Coffeehouse. We spent well over a year renovating it with all new plumbing, electrical and mechanicals, while at the same time, doing everything possible to retain the old Florida feel by reusing most of the old wood that was removed for renovation.

Since we have completed work on the Barn, we have been absolutely delighted with the results. Not only were we were able to save a very special old house but also that it's unique character will bless hundreds of guests in the years to come. In fact, it has quickly become many of our guests favorite place to stay.

The Accommodations are eclectically decorated with period pieces, funky lamps, rewired light fixtures, and collectible wall hangings. All rooms also feature new bathrooms and separate hot water heaters. None of the rooms share a common wall so privacy is assured. Breakfast at Hibiscus is always included.

There are Five Rooms in Bert's Barn to Choose From...

Big Easy: Fully handicapped accessible little cabin semi-detached from the main house (it was a detached kitchen in it's early life) equipped with mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. (This room is held for the physically challenged until all other rooms are rented.)

Old Florida: A first floor mini-suite with kitchenette (microwave, fridge, coffeepot, sink) This spacious room has a queen-sized bed. If you want to bring along your small child, a crib or a cot can be provided.

Funky Bird: Our other first floor mini-suite, also with kitchenette. Separated from the Old Florida room by the Dog Trot. Again, this queen-sized room allows access to the Barn's big front porch. As with the Old Florida room, we can provide a cot or crib. More and Bigger Pictures.

Romance: A large second floor king-sized room decorated for lovers. It features a Jacuzzi-type tub that fits two plus a separate shower. It shares a full kitchen and large living/dining area with the Tropical bird room.

Tropical Bird: Another large second floor king-sized room decorated with our favorite bird prints. It shares a full kitchen and large living/dining area with the Romance room. More and Bigger Pictures.
